Trex offer targets baking boom

Iconic baking brand Trex is targeting the nations' home bakers with a new on-pack offer.

Trex – the fastest growing baking fat on the market*, which is popular for making cakes, biscuits and pastries – is offering consumers the chance to claim a limited-edition 2010 recipe calendar with coupons from special packs.

The 2010 calendar, which is available until the end of the year, includes 12 new specially-selected seasonal baking recipes.

The move follows the recent launch of the Trex cookbook which was first printed during the 1950s and was revamped at the start of this year for a similar on-pack promotion that boosted brand sales by 29.8%**.

Neil Brownbill, marketing director for Trex, said: "Trex is the one of the most trusted names in British home baking. Every month we are inundated with enquiries from consumers requesting Trex recipes.

"With home baking on the increase we spotted an opportunity to drive continued growth into sales of baking fat with a series of on-pack promotions aimed at the UK's growing community of home cooks."

Trex is a dairy free baking fat which contains only pure vegetable oils and no emulsifiers, colours, water or hydrogenated fats, unlike many other leading brands.
