The benefits of Omega 3

Fish and shellfish are naturally good sources of many vitamins and minerals

It’s good to know that many of our canned fish products - including Princes Salmon, Princes Mackerel, Princes Sardines, and Princes Kippers - are naturally high in Omega 3. As eating 250 mg each day of Omega 3 fatty acids (EPA and DHA) helps the heart function normally.

The Government recommends a healthy diet, which should include at least two portions of fish a week, including one of oily fish. That is because fish and shellfish are naturally good sources of many vitamins and minerals.

Omega 3 Benefits

  • Oily fish contains a special kind of fat, called long-chain omega-3 fatty acids.
  • It's the richest source of this fat, which can help prevent heart disease.
  • Some shellfish also contains long-chain omega-3, but not as much as oily fish. The main shellfish sources of long-chain omega-3 are mussels, oysters, squid and crab.
