1 x 145g can Princes Tuna Chunks in Springwater

200g dried spaghetti

2 tbsp (heaped) reduced fat garlic and herb flavour cream cheese

1tbsp chopped flat leaf parsley, plus extra to garnish

2 tbsp finely grated parmesan

½ tsp ground black pepper

1 egg yolk (keep the white to use in another recipe)

Watch how its done


  1. Cook the spaghetti, but for a minute or two less than the instructions
  2. While it’s cooking, chop the parsley, grate the cheese and separate the egg
  3. When the pasta is ready, drain, but keep some of the cooking water
  4. Add the cream cheese to a large sauté pan or deep frying pan and stir in about a cupful of the reserved hot cooking water to make a creamy sauce
  5. Stir in the parsley and parmesan and add a generous grind of black pepper.
  6. Tip the spaghetti into the pan, stir again then turn off the heat. Add the tuna and egg yolk and carefully toss into the hot spaghetti, being careful not to break up the chunks of fish too much
  7. Divide between two warm bowls and sprinkle over a little more parsley and black pepper before serving


Tip: Lovely served with a big green salad dressed with olive oil and balsamic vinegar
